To sign up, please email me, River Selkie, and let me know that you are interested in posting a karaoke song to the Sing-A-Long Karaoke Blog. Please send the following information:

**I am not concerned about songs with explicit lyrics, so go ahead and sing those. I will just make sure to indicate that the song has some explicit lyrics so we can warn those with sensitive ears.
2. Choosing a Song:
I recommend that you pick your first song before you email me. Maybe even practice in the shower, or in the car driving around. (For some of us, no amount of practice will help. HA!) If you know the lyrics already, faboo, but if not you might want to look up the lyrics online. I have listed some websites that have lyrics for thousands of songs. The song posts via audioBLOGGER are limited to 2 minutes for each. This is not my rule, it is audioBLOGGER's rule. But really, 2 minutes is prolly sufficient for a performance post. If you make your own MP3's then you are free to make your song longer if you wish. The other thing to keep in mind is that you will most likely be singing without background music, unless you provide it for yourself. If you wrote your own song or can play an instrument yourself, feel free to do so.

3. Posting Your Performance:
Option 1: AudioBLOGGER is free and has given us Bloggers the awesome capability to make audio posts. So if you want to karaoke on the Sing-A-Long Karaoke Blog AND make some other audio entries on your regular blog, you can do so with audioBLOGGER.
So how exactly do you use audioBLOGGER to post your peformance? Well, you will need to register with Blogger to start. Then you will call 1-661-716-2564 (blog). You'll enter your primary phone number and PIN number, record your song, press a button, and whammo, instant karaoke post. And guess what...if you really screw up, they give you a chance to re-record it.
Once you have done that you will have two options...(one) you can send me a copy of your post code and I will paste it into an entry on the karaoke blog, or (two) I will give you access to the karaoke blog so that you can make the post directly from audioBLOGGER to the blog.
One problem at this time is that the phone number to call for audioBLOGGER is a U.S. number, and for many of you, it will be a long distance number. Most of you living outside of the area code might have to pay a bit to post your song at the very least. And I do not think you can use this process if you live outside of North America. So keep that in mind. Rumor has it they are working on setting up the audioBlOGGER for other countries, so keep checking on that. I hope everyone has access soon!
Disclaimer: I warned you about the potential fees and the potential inability to post if you are not in the U.S., so don't think you will be able to yell and blame me later, OK? Plus you should read the Blogger and audioBLOGGER rules and guidelines. Since you will be using their products, you will need to be aware of all they say in addition to my little rules.
Option 2: Of course, you have another option for posting a karaoke song. You can create your own MP3 or .wav files. I have no idea how to do it, so you are on your own there, but it can be done, and several people have already used this method for posting songs. After you create your MP3 or .wav files, simply email them to me with your name and song information and I will post your song. This is a good option for those of you who live outside of the U.S. or who do not have or want Blogger accounts.
4. Commenting on Perfomances:
At this time, I am going to allow comments because I think they are fun. However, if there are problems and individuals start insulting other people's performances or are just plain rude, I will edit and remove comments and/or people. I will try to simply delete 'bad' comments and block the guilty individuals who leave inappropriate comments, but if that does not solve the problem, I will remove the comments completely. I'd rather not do that so everyone better behave. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, and GO AWAY!
ABSOLUTELY NO flaming, disrespect, negative attitudes, drunk iguanas, or other
miscellaneous inappropriate behavior will be tolerated on the Sing-A-Long Karaoke Blog.
